This list includes the approximately 1,100 federally-inspected slaughterhouses, where 99 percent of all animals slaughtered in the United States are killed (not included are slaughter facilities operating under state inspection and not involved in interstate commerce).
Most are slaughter/processing facilities, where animals are both killed and processed (cut-up, skinned, boned, canned, salted, etc.).

P = poultry slaughter and processing. The majority of poultry slaughterhouses are for chickens; turkey slaughterhouses are noted when known. According to the USDA, "poultry" includes rabbits.
